If you were to see me in the gym recently, you would notice me walking around with a six foot long metal pole. In fact, your curiosity would turn into shock as you see me put this pole on the ground and attempt to do a workout or something that looks similar. Welcome to the ZejaX. Not original to me, the ZejaX bar was created by Paul Zaichik in order to make calisthenics more progressive while enhancing a workout. He has a whole slew of DVDs dedicated to showing you just how to perform different workouts. Here is the kicker: it costs over $90. As incredible as a ZejaX is, I am not going to spend 90 bucks for a steel rod. Fortunately, there exists a place called Home Depot, which has steel electrical conduit. Just get a 1" diameter steel conduit bar and cut it down to six feet. Then, put a chair leg tip on each end and , PRESTO, you have your own ZejaX for close to ten dollars. Now, you will want to get high quality chair tips or else you will wear them down quickly. I am still experimenting with the best chair tips, so be careful how you use this new contraption of yours. You may want to try cane tips, which are meant for strange angles and a person's leaning weight. Stay safe and have fun.
